The Patharpratima police have arrested a civic volunteer for allegedly molesting a college girl in broad daylight. The incident, which occurred around 11 AM on Saturday in the Sunderban area, has caused widespread outrage in the area. According to reports, the victim was going to attend a college fest.
The volunteer, identified as Amitabh Barui, reportedly blocked the student's path while she was going to college and reportedly molested her on the street.
After returning home in tears, the girl informed her family, who filed a complaint at the Patharpratima police station. Following the complaint, police swiftly arrested the accused.
During questioning, the civic volunteer claimed that he was in love with the girl and that their relationship had become strained recently. He admitted that he tried to stop her from talking, but the girl’s family accused him of repeatedly harassing their daughter.
